Mommy Makeovers

Mommy Makeovers are cosmetic surgeries that are redefining the ultimate body after childbirth. In post pregnancy women, these desired changes frequently involve those to the breasts and tummy. Breastfeeding will often leave women with flat or deflated breasts. Luckily, patients have access to a variety of customized treatments including a breast augmentation, breast lift and/or combination of the two. In addition to these changes, pregnancy can take its toll on the abdomen area by leaving stretched excess skin or tummy pouches that can be repaired with surgery.

Pre-operative weight reduction is essential when the weight is a recent addition, such as during pregnancy. The right time for surgery is when a patient is at a stable weight. Excessive, unsustainable weight loss prior to surgery, which can not be maintained may lead to recurrence of tummy bulges after surgery.

A tummy tuck, abdominoplasty also can remove stretch marks and excess skin in the lower abdomen below the belly button. Liposuction may be used to improve the contour of the hips. A tummy tuck may narrow the waist, but not the hips.
